Kori Allan completed a Doctor of Philosophy in Anthropology at the University of Toronto in 2014. She was awarded a Postdoctoral Fellowship (2014-2016) by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC). This postdoctoral fellowship supports her to work with Professor Lisa Adkins at the University of Newcastle, Australia.
Kori’s research is informed by sociocultural and linguistic anthropology, economic sociology, and feminist theory and is at the intersection of the study of labour, migration, and citizenship. Her current project examines the reconfiguration of labour and life in post-industrial Canada, particularly as it pertains to the un- and under- employment of immigrants and youth.
She has been a virtual participant in events to date and joined the FiDiPro team in Finland for a period of time in 2016.
